B CORP

We are incredibly proud to be a certified B Corporation (B Corp), joining a growing community of purpose-driven companies committed to using their business as a force for good. In other words, we all strive to use our profit to create a positive impact on the world. Being certified was never a goal in itself, and we’re not done now. We are even more committed to balancing our profit with purpose and responsibility.

As a B Corp, we meet high standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, with a focus on purpose & shareholder governance, fair work, JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion), human rights, climate action, environmental stewardship and circularity, and collective action.

Becoming a B Corp

To become a B Corp, we went through a rigorous process, with B Lab evaluating our entire business operations, not just our products, through the B Impact Assessment. To qualify, we had to demonstrate that, in addition to making profit, we prioritise people, the environment, and society. A key step in the process was amending our articles of association to formalise this commitment.

The B Impact Assessment

Businesses must score at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment to become certified. SUITSUIT scored 96.8 points, every score is publicly listed in the global B Corp directory. Completing the assessment, was no small feat; it took us almost a year, with active involvement from almost every team member.

The current assessment covers five impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. .

GOVERNANCE

Questions about our mission, our stakeholder engagement, governance structure and oversight, as well as our level of transparency.

WORKERS

Questions on how we treat our employees, including aspects such as renumeration practices, benefits, training, employee ownership, inclusivity, gender equality and the work environment.

COMMUNITY

Questions about our impact on external stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, the (local) economy and the (local and global) community, as well as our practices regarding diversity, job creation, civic engagement, and charitable work.

ENVIRONMENT

Questions to check our direct and indirect environmental impact.

CUSTOMERS

Questions to check the impact of our business model on our customers.

Minimum score

At least 80 points must be obtained. The average score of a B Corp company is 94 points. We scored 96.8 points. As a B Corp, we have the opportunity to learn from and grow with other companies in the community, comparing our performance through the B Impact Assessment to see where we excel and where there is room for improvement.

Re-assessment

Getting a B Corp certificate is not a one-off act. We are reassessed every 3 years. This periodic assessment pushes us to continuously improve. This process encourages us to remain steadfast in our commitment to use our business to do good, ensuring we remain accountable and motivated to evolve and make an even greater impact.

The importance of being a B Corp

At SUITSUIT, we feel a deep responsibility to protect the world we travel in, so that both we and future generations can continue to explore it. This responsibility guides our decisions and actions, making sure we do good not only for the company and its stakeholders, but also for people, society, and the planet. Both here, in our daily operations, and around the world, as we travel responsibly - and inspire others to join.

To understand where we stood in our journey towards contributing to a better world and where we could improve, we sought an objective method to gain insight into both our environmental impact, and our social impact and performance. This led us to B Corp, a highly comprehensive and rigorous certification with a community of like-minded companies. We see B Corp as an external partner that helps us understand our position on the sustainability ladder: environmentally, socially and economically.
