SUITSUIT TRAVEL GUIDE | Paris

The city of love and the Olympic Games, but let’s not forget it's also the city of fashion. Together with Maison Elle’s Eugénie Le Mière, we went to explore her favourite spots in Paris. From authentic boutiques to serene local parks, in this blog we put together her ultimate travel guide.

Where she shops

MISS SUGAR CANE – With Paris Fashion Week just around the corner, we start with Miss Sugar Cane. Here you’ll find both vintage clothing and jewellery. Vintage is trending again, and you’re guaranteed to find an outfit that can be given a new life. Complete your look with a few matching accessories that you can buy in the shop as well.

LA PARTISIENNE & FRIENDS – The collections at La Partisienne & Friends are mainly made from leftover fabrics from major French fashion houses. This boutique focuses on lingerie and beachwear, but you’ll also find other types of clothing such as shorts. After working at brands like Chanel, the owner started her own shop in the heart of Paris. She believes in giving everyone a chance and collaborates frequently with other designers, who also sell their creations here. Definitely worth a visit!

Where she eats

PAPI – A true local favourite, Papi is an Italian restaurant popular among Parisians. New dishes appear on the menu every season. This is because they mainly use seasonal produce from the Paris region. According to Eugénie, this is the place to go if you’re looking for fresh, delicious pasta. Do we need to say more?

LE PETIT MARCHE – If you’re a fan of the Louvre, then Le Petit Marché will be right up your alley. The restaurant is filled with extraordinary paintings. Not only is the interior a masterpiece, but the food is also delightful. The menu is full of gourmet options that are updated each season. Enjoy dinner here with a fine glass of wine and a perfectly cooked steak or tartare, and you're guaranteed a memorable evening.

LES FLACONS – Looking for an evening filled with wine and laughter? Then wine bar Les Flacons is the perfect choice. With their natural wines and generous sharing platters, you can enjoy the whole evening. They sell local wines in their shop, but you can also sit at the wine bar. Whether you come alone, with a friend, or with a group, you are always welcome to give all sorts of different wines a try.

Where she sleeps

MAISON ELLE – Since we’re on a tour with Eugénie, a visit to Maison Elle is a must. This designer hotel is located close to the Arc de Triomphe. Besides offering a place to stay, there’s so much more to do. For example, you can take a yoga class, visit the spa, or explore the in-house concept store. Make sure to get the full experience at Maison Elle.

HÔTEL DES GRANDES ÉCOLES – A country house in the middle of Paris, doesn’t that sound like a dream? At Hôtel des Grandes Écoles, it feels as if you’ve stepped into a French fairytale. The hotel is housed in a beautiful old building with many details. It features a wooded garden where you can relax. It truly feels as though you’ve escaped the city and found yourself in complete tranquillity—perfect for unwinding after a busy day exploring the streets of Paris.

Where she relaxes

DOSE – If you want to start your day slowly with a hot coffee, head to Dose. Not only do they carefully select their own beans, but you can also enjoy a lovely breakfast here. If you want to relive a taste of Paris at home, you can take a bag of coffee beans or capsules with you.

PARC MONCEAU – Sometimes you just want to escape the city’s hustle and bustle. When Eugénie needs a break, she heads to Parc Monceau, located in the 8th arrondissement. Here you can stroll through nature at your own accord or sit on a bench with a coffee to-go, watching people pass by.

STRADA CAFÉ – A great place to grab the aforementioned coffee-to-go is Strada Café. You can also take a seat inside or on the terrace. Start your day in the morning sun with a good coffee and a delicious pain au chocolat.

INFORM CAFÉ – Brunch with a view at Inform Café, where you can look out over a historic monument in the Cité de l’Économie in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. While the view alone is worth it, the food is equally impressive. There’s something for everyone; from a homemade bun to sweet or savoury pancakes. After this brunch, you’ll certainly be full until the evening arrives.

All these places ensure an unforgettable experience in the city of love. And are you still looking for a suitcase to carry all your clothes, coffee, and other purchases home with you? Then the Fab Seventies Antique White carry-on suitcase is the perfect addition to your trip. That way, you can continue to enjoy Paris for as long as possible back home.
