TAKING RESPONSIBILITY

They say, “responsibility is the ability to respond”. We make conscious decisions that maximize our positive social, economic and ecological impact, while minimizing the negatives. Our choices go beyond what’s good for us and for our stakeholders – they’re about what's right for people, especially women, society (and more specifically the travel industry) we’re part of, and the world we all share. Taking responsibility is about more than just reducing and compensating our ecological footprint; social and economic sustainability matter just as much.

SOCIAL

Any travel enthusiast will agree that a beautiful trip can be truly enriching. Meeting new people, discovering new cultures, flavours, and scents, and learning new languages. Living unique experiences. But apart from consuming travel experiences, travelling also gives us the opportunity to give back to the communities we visit. Especially to women in the travel and tourism industry, who are often employed in low-skilled or informal jobs.

Travel can be a powerful tool to unlock women’s potential and empower them in various ways, both as travellers and as women working in the industry.

ECONOMIC

Travel, especially when it involves visiting female host communities, has the power to boost economic independence by offering opportunities for self-development and confidence building. It paves the way for economic empowerment, especially in low- and middle-income countries and rural areas.

By supporting initiatives that create more employment, entrepreneurial or leadership opportunities for women in tourism, travel helps women gain greater control over their incomes and promotes equality within the sector, both for travellers as women working in tourism-related roles.

ECOLOGICAL

Travel, especially air travel, raises valid sustainability concerns. As a brand that develops stylish and practical products for (air) travel, we don't shy away from our responsibilities – whether within our operations, products, supply chain, stakeholders, or our influence in the travel and tourism sector. We actively work to minimize our ecological footprint at every stage.

But responsible travel goes beyond reducing our footprint. We strive to travel consciously and encourage others to do the same—minimizing ecological harm while maximizing positive social and economic impact. We’re mindful of the climate, support local communities, especially women, and ensure that the places we visit benefit in the long run. Travel should be a force for good, for all people and places involved, and we take responsibility for keeping that balance.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY REPORT 2023

B CORP

We are incredibly proud to be a certified B Corporation (B Corp), joining a growing community of purpose-driven companies committed to using their business as a force for good. In other words, we all strive to use our profit to create a positive impact on the world.

As a B Corp, we meet high standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, ensuring a balance between our profit goals and our purpose. We believe that business should go beyond just generating profit – it should help society (people) and the environment (planet) as a whole, prioritising long-term value over short-term gains.

Becoming a B Corp was never a goal in itself. It’s a recognition of our efforts so far and an encouragement to stay committed to keep improving and using our business for good, every single day.
